Poland's Budimex, Lotos create flower-scented asphalt

Polish construction firm Budimex (BDXP.WA) and refiner Lotos (LTSP.WA) have created a floral-scented asphalt in a bid to improve working conditions for road builders, Budimex said on Monday.

While vapours emitted by ordinary asphalt are not harmful to humans, the novel material will provide a more comfortable working environment for construction workers paving roads, Budimex said.

12 Flint area ramps closing for summer construction on westbound I-69

A dozen ramps are being shut down for the summer as the Michigan Department of Transportation’s $100-million rebuild of the expressway kicks into high gear.

MDOT said in a news release that its contractor on the reconstruction project from Fenton Road to Dort Highway started switching over traffic on Interstate 69 Tuesday, June 1, to have both directions of travel on the eastbound section of the interstate.
